Monte da Bemposta

Lovely rural accommodation in a beautiful location on farm with animals. We were upgraded from a double room to a studio, which has been done up very nicely and we appreciated the upgrade. You can park right in front and have your own entrance directly from parking with small patio overlooking back of the property. It’s not a big hotel, smaller than expected and so you cannot just walk in to restaurant/bar at the spur of the moment and order anything (this is off season not sure other times) need to plan and book ahead.

Outstanding staff and location. Property is very well taken care of. The farm-feeling with all the animals is great. So are the outsdoor green areas and pool side. Cozy studios with an incredebly relaxing mood. Proxikity to the beach is a huge plus. Food was delicious, quality ingredients including salads from the garden. Pets are allowed - major plus! A place to return.

The property is on a stunning location next to the ocean, with everything you could possibly need. Including a restaurant with fabulous staff and wonderful food. The animals in their enclosures around the property are so well taken care of and a joy to visit and photograph! We didn’t take advantage of the pool as December is a bit too cold for us, but it is beautiful and quite large. The paddle tennis courts also look to be in excellent condition and having rackets and balls to borrow is a huge plus.

Everything: the size of the room, the land and proximity of the sea; the service; the cleanliness; the breakfast; the food overall, the choice of wines; the presence of animals, the horse riding; the view.

The environment was clean, beautiful, sustainable and quiet. I love all animals and so hearing livestock sounds and birds is very joyful, and we got to hear animals a lot. The gardens, animals, forest were all beautiful and it was a 20 minute walk to a terrific but rocky beach. So so beautiful and clean. Good small restaurants quite nearby, but the dinner served at their restaurant was superb. Breakfast was amazing, plentiful and varied. Snacks during the day--get tuna toast sandwiches!!!--were a nice touch. Staff just so nice, but boy must they be working all of the time, as the staff is small. Need a car, I would say, to get there, but it is so relaxing that there is not much of a reason to leave [ever!]. The pool and seating are all gorgeous, there is sports equipment and bikes to use for free. One can ride horses, though we did not. They even loaned us a little beach umbrella to use! The first night there was a very obnoxious 'hen party' of some people from the UK and US. They were unbelievably rude, but luckily toned it down the next day and then were gone. Oh, and the interior of the suite was terrific. Too much good to say but a beautiful stripped down aesthetic which really appealed. Super comfy bed! Thank you to Margareta, who managed everything!
